Lailana's Birthday Party!

Here are a few shots from Lailana's 1st Birthday Party. We had a few friends and lots of family over to celebrate the occassion. I made the lady bug pinata with paper mache. Stan duct taped it once so it would make it through all the kids. I was really surprised how well it held up. Dale gave us some great advice. Next year, I will wrap it in duct tape before I put on the last layer!!! Lailana loved all the attention. She also loved the kiddie pool. While I was in the house getting her suit, she climbed into the kiddie pool, clothes, shoes and all. She was all smiles.
We decorated glass bug jars for the kids to collect bugs and take home. We provided toy bugs that were scattered around the yard. It seemed some of the kids were more interested in taking home real creatures. I think Elizabeth and Andrew convinced their parents into taking home 12 tadpoles from their initial 50+ that they caught from our pond. It was a wonderful weekend. To top the cake, Cynthia and Dale's families came for the birthday party and Doug's family came on Sunday for a visit. The party was a great excuse to see the family!
